GouldieFledge, I hope your babies are ok. We all make mistakes along the way. I was doing a nest check last week and decided to inspect the eggs since one had a hole in it. I was concerned about ants so I checked each egg. Then, I accidentally mashed one. OMG, they are so fragile. It was viable too. Rats! Praying that your guys were just super thirsty when you got home.

lovezebs, I have 8 gouldians. 6 are at my father's house since I moved, I cannot figure out how to transport them to my new house. My father has been essentially caring for them as far as watering goes, and then I stop by every few days to check feeders, clean cage, etc. They go nuts when they see me. I miss them!

Then I have my 2 blue gouldians that I'm trying to rehab (purchased about 1 month ago); these were the ones that I thought I'd missed the water.

Yes all, they were just fine because...............apparently I DIDN'T forget to put the water back in before I left yesterday morning. I rang the alarm for nothing! Clearly the new job is stressing me out.

#-o LOL
See you look after your birdies even without realizing you're doing it. Glad that all turned out well :D

What's the problem with bringing your Gouldi's over from Dad's house?

lovezebs, the cage is too big to fit in my car. Plus, I made it by zip-tying 4 standard flight cages together, so I don't know how it'd hold up in transport. To take it apart and try to put it back together again would be an absolute nightmare.

My only option would be to order one of those beautiful F030 cages...but I can't afford to right now.

GouldieFledge Can you get a smaller cage, like 24x16x16? You can use it for a hospital or quarantine cage later on, so always useful to have one that size on hand. I think we've all gone off and think we've forgotten to do something. Years ago, I was going out of town, and I thought I had left my coffee maker turned on (old days when it didn't turn off automatically). I called my neighbor from the airport, thinking it would burn the house down. When she checked, it was unplugged--I just didn't remember doing it!)

GouldieFledge

The birds can be transported in a smaller cage.

As to the flight.... hmm. If you could find someone with a pickup truck. You can stand it towards the back , close to the tailgate, then lay it gently backwards toward the cab of the truck. Tuck old blankets, towels, pillows (what ever you have) under the part that's sticking up, to give it support. Then bungee the whole darn thing to the sides of the truck. It will travel beautifully.

The only reason I know it works.... I moved recentry as well.
Had to drag several large flights, cages, 80+ birds, fish tank, fish, two dogs, etc. etc. The F030's, had to be disassembled and reassembled, they didn't fit well in my son's smallish truck.

Hope you manage somehow.
