Hurricane Matthew
Everyone in the path of this monster of a hurricane please be safe, take no chances.
They are predicting it to be a possible CAT 5 by the time it makes landfall on Florida's East Coast. It is very dangerous, the entire state is in a state of emergency now.

Re: Hurricane Matthew
They haven't told my area to evacuate yet, but I've got an emergency cage set up with enough food and water to last my three birds for a week to a week and a half, just in case.

They did it in a system in areas. Some are refusing to leave, the storm is a serious one.Sally wrote: Prayers for everyone. I hope that those on the east coastal areas were able to evacuate.

Re: Hurricane Matthew
My deepest apologies for the callous news casters gleefully using phrases like "tear into" and "plowing through" the region.
As a non-TV watcher, it is truly enraging/shocking to have to read such disgusting & juvenile mainstream media reports on this serious storm.
Praying everyone and their property in Florida is safe.

Re: Hurricane Matthew
Hope all are safe! We're getting some pretty strong gusts in Central FL and are under curfew until 7am tomorrow. 600,000 in the state with no power. Thankfully, we are not one of them....yet.
We boarded up the aviary yesterday and it is secure. I just ran out there (in the hurricane...LOL!) to check on my kids and they are dry and sitting next to the window we left for them on the non-wind side. The winds should ease up around 4pm so we'll be able to remove the front boards later today. I'm leaving the rest up because there is a CAT 2 storm...Nicole...brewing. Ugh.
This is a picture of the aviary before we put the last board on.

Glad to know that both of you are safe and sound. apparently the storm is affectingCox Cable Tower in Georgia. and a lot of our internet access here in Virginia is going to go down. I am unable to work today due to the outage. I'm checking Yall out on my phone. if it's gone out to see I don't understand why it's affecting an internet Tower in Georgia. makes no sense.

Re: Hurricane Matthew
Babs, Matthew is still a CAT 3 storm that is hitting Jacksonville now. Nicole is the one at sea that they think will peter out. Let's hope so!
