Tail-fluttering, Preening, and Beak wiping ???

Post by JerseyGuy » Wed Oct 12, 2016 11:38 am

My 2 Male Gouldians have been exhibiting a lot of tail fluttering, beak wiping and preening .....

Is something going on here ..... like Air-sac mites ??

Please advise. Thanks. :?:

does not sound like ASM, sounds like grooming and display to me.

do you hear ticking when you put the birds to your ear?

Their behavior was quite erratic, fast flying around the cage, fluttering of wings, constant wiping of beaks. However, once I
turned off the overhead Avian light ...... they calmed down.
So, I really don't think they like the light above their cage,
or it is emitting heat that they do not like, and the light is about
12-inches above the top of the cage. I will continue to monitor
their behavior. And I do not hear any beak ticking from them.
