George is a papa for the first time!!! This guy is truly picky!!! I know I paired him with at least 4 different girls and he ignored ALL of them. He would just turn his back and look out the window!!!!!! Can you believe that?!?! Well George is a double factor rh /pb/yb (I checked the head and chin area Debbie! ). and his mate is a by/wb/gb/blue. Wish em luck guys!!

Woohoo! They fashioned quite a nest! I think I see food already in the crop of one of them. Im glad mr finicky finally found a lady he fancies. Let us know how he does on the "daddy duties!"

Thanks lem2bert. I mean u should have seen him! He would sing his heart out!!! Then I'd put a female in there ....He's like nope he don't want her. I wait awhile then remove her.

He'd start singing again! I put another girl in there..He's like Are you serious? Her? No thanks. Back to the window he goes...so I wait again

Then I put another female in there...He's like you've GOT to be kidding me woman! Ain't no way in Gods green earth I'm messN with that!

By this point I'm getting fed up. I remove the hen and he starts singing....AGAIN. So I get another gen and put her in...He's like I'm not even gonna entertain the thought. So I gave up. Last year I just put him in with some bachelors until I started this season.

I put TWO females with him and he showed interest in one!!! Yay! Whew!!!!

Two of the three fledged today! They are flying strong. The last one in the nest is peeking out. Won't be long. I got busy and realized I forgot to band. so after I took these pics I banded them all. One escaped and flew around the house for a few seconds but I got 'em. Whew!

Alright folks... George is officially showing off his papa skills!!! His fledglings keep looking in the nest asking "what are those things? Why are you sitting on them? " when George comes out and mom goes to sit, he pulls the kids to the side and talks about the birds and the bees!!!! Hahahahah!!! You should see the kids learning. They look on so intently. "You mean we used to look like that Papa?" George responds "Yes indeed son. That's why your mother and I keep you warm and feed you so you will be healthy and strong." They say "oh wow Papa, I love you!"( But all I really hear is "TWEET TWEET TWEET TWIT!")
