Do Green Singers usually act very weird with their mirrors? Mine is obsessed, paces and does a weird pattern of things like side to side stepping look up twist head shake stoop to the mirror open and close mouth really fast and hop onto mirror. If mirror is taken away she is interested in humans but if mirror is there she just likes her mirror.
Very interesting . I am only familiar with regular finches and Budgies.
thank you again!

Re: Mirror Obsession
Since she doesn't have a cage buddy, she thinks the mirror image is her buddy. I'd leave it in there for now.

Agree with Sally.
She doesn't have a mate, so she's trying to entice this bird on the other side of the glass to come over.

All my finches have mirrors, and like to talk to them. My star finch has had a relationship with his mirror, to the point he feeds it. He doesn't like other birds, and seems very content with his "mate".

Re: Mirror Obsession
I have one canary in a cage by itself because it was sold to me as a female but does not get along with any bird I put it in with. To this day I do not know if it is a male or a female. It does not sing and has never laid an egg. I have had sherbert for a year. I always felt bad for this little bird because the cage it is in is next to another cage and it would sit on a perch next to the other cage often. I put a mirror in with this little bird and it loves sitting at that mirror. It stares at itself and pecks at the bottom of it, I guess it is waiting for it to make the right move so it can attack !!!
