Finally! Fertile Eggs!

Post by wilkifam » Tue Feb 21, 2017 7:30 pm

Just paired this SFYB Black head to a BH Yellow hen. I was worried he was infertile, because he has never produced any chicks when paired with other hens. So glad he turned out not to be infertile, because I really like him. They have 5 eggs, at least 2 fertile, a bit early to tell for sure if there are more or not.

Congratulations on the fertile egg babies.

Is that his true colours in the photo? I have never seen such unusual shades. Very pretty boy.

I'd say its the purple hue from the light accentuating some colours. Still a stellar bird. Definitely one I want!

Those are his true colors. He is a black head, but the head is very bluish in color.

Nope, he REALLY IS the color you see. He is Black Headed SFY, but has a lot of blue color to his head.
