Unfortunately I won't be pipping my pants this time around.

We got another quitter. This one had pink eyes! Not sure if that's normal... Apparently it had died of liver failure, which I suspect means I didn't keep it humid enough. Fully absorbed yolk and blood system. A lovely little bird! The liver was large, black and swollen, and there was a chlorine smell when I inspected the hatching debris despite the chick only having been dead around 6-8 hours.
BUT! Bonus:
Vilu had laid one final, sad egg around day 10 after laying the last one, and she's sitting tight! Hopefully there is no need to take over here, because while that was an incredible learning experience I am thoroughly exhausted.
The egg is fertile, and hatching day should be on the 16th-18th!
Thanks for all your help, I learned so much and had such an awesome time! I can't wait to try again after I get a proper incubator and find some button quail hatching eggs.
