Now I've Seen It All!!!

Hello Happy Finchers,

Yesterday while watching one of my Zebra Society Flights, I saw something I have never seen before in all my years.

One Zebra female, two Zebra males.
Both boys got the same idea at the same time. At the exact split second, they both jumped her, ended up hanging on sideways and mating with her.

Now this puts a whole new meaning to the word threesome....

My favorite interaction was always the "sneak attack" when an undesirable male would jump in at the last second when a female did the mating crouch for a more attractive guy. Then woosh he'd slip in, knock him off backwards and do the deed. Spice finches and my male silverbill were notorious for doing it to the lady societies in my old group.

And what had me laughing, is that she just sat there with this poker face on, like nothing untoward was happening. For all I know, maybe they do this all the time

Yesterday I saw three mallard drakes trying to mate with the same female at the same time; they nearly drowned the poor bird!
