2 of my babies

Post by Sue55 » Fri Jun 09, 2017 10:50 am

Here are pics of 2 of my babies. I hope! I have 6, not 5 and mom is doing a great job of looking after them. 2 of them are out and about, 1 will be soon and the last two are still quite wee, but getting there. The grey one in the pic is already in the food dish, Seems like that one is gonna be a spunky little thing.

They are lovely!

I really like the little white one. He has such a sweet expression on his face, you just want to kiss him <3

Congratulations on the little fledglings.

yes, the white one is our fav but probably because it's a different colour. I now have 5 babies out on a perch.

I can't wait for the nest to be gone. I'm wondering if the dad could go in once the nest is gone. He won't need to pluck feathers if he's not building a nest.

I feel bad for him, he wants to be with his family so bad

Thank you everyone,

Elana, yes there is still one little one in the nest, just not ready to come out yet. They all still go back to sleep in the nest also.

They will continue to go into the nest to sleep, but be prepared for another clutch to be laid in there even as we speak, lol.

There isn't going to be another clutch. No way. I now have 8 zebras. LOL I started with one. As soon as the last baby is out and about the nest is coming out.

On another note. We tried to put the dad back in with them last night. I watched them carefully for awhile. When he went to the nest one of the babies would chase him out, which I thought was funny. BUT....
once again he started to pick on the mom. He pulled her so hard she actually was pulled off the perch. So out he went again. I no longer feel sorry for him, the big bully.

I gotta say, these babies are quite funny. From chasing dad away from the nest to sitting in the food dish and making mom eat around him/her. There are 2 in the food dish while mom is eating.
Silly silly birds.
