Please help , What sex are these Star finches?

I was purchasing a male and a female

I'm not sure if I have 2 males

LaReine It is hard to tell for sure, but the one in front is definitely male. Normally, the mask on a male will extend past the eye, while it will not go past the eye on a female. The one in the back is hard to be absolutely sure, as the mask is smaller than the other, but it does go just barely past the eye. The body markings look the same, a hen should have less prominent markings. Only males sing, so that is one way to tell for sure. Here is an article on Stars:

So that means it's a pair of males ?

If the one in the background is a male, then it must be very young indeed. I would have sworn that one was a female.

Oh, I used to have a star finch. What a lovely little bird he was! He lived way longer than most. I was an idiot then and didn't evn care for him well (fresh vedgies, etc.) How precious! Enjoy!

I have been carefully observing this pair and come to the conclusion they are in a same sex marriage..

I have caught each at different times singing, so I am assuming they are both males.

I put two nest boxes in ( and materials ) , just in case I am wrong and one of the little husbands want to lay an egg for me....

so far lots of songs and no eggs
