Winter chicks are looking good
I have a clutch of 5 gouldians that left the nest today. 4 Yellows and one dilute. Thy seemed to stay in the nest a bit longer because of the cold.
I also have another 2 normal chicks that are just starting to get feathers.
My 3rd pair has just started incubating 5 eggs.

Ricardo Ronsini The mother is a Yellowhead, purplebreast, yellowback and the father a redhead, purplebreast dilute. Strangely enough, they always have more yellows per clutch than others.

Thanks Elana and Babs. The juvies are doing ok. I lost a yellow one, probably due to stress shortly after moving them. They are a bit calmer now. They used to fly like crazed things in the beginning. They still not tame, but are better. Most of them have got a few feathers of their adult colours, so I can see blackhead, redhead etc.

Usually birds bred in an Aviary tend to be wilder by nature.
I have found that even ones raised in a community flight without any handling , are a lot more nervous than the ones which I bred in individual cages and handled from a very early age.
I would not call them tame, but just much more calm around me. To really have them tame, you'd have to remove them from parental care at a young age, and hand feed them up to weaning, then basically keep them away from other finches to maintain their tameness (if there is such a word
