New baby out of the nest (my first, yay!! -- outdoor aviary (7'x10'). The baby, of course, is on the ground (concrete) and mom and dad have been feeding. It is so tiny, has feathers and fuzzy but obviously isn't able yet to fly at all. I'm wondering should I have taken the family and put in a cage until baby is stronger?
Also, when would baby start eating on its own? Should I put food/water on the floor for it? It has been out of the nest about a week.

I would not interfere with this little one, or you might find yourself handfeeding this very tiny baby.
The parents know what they're doing, allow them to do it.
If this youngster is fully feathered and the weather is good, I would leave well enough alone.
At this stage, the parents will feed, but placing very shallow dishes of water, hard boiled egg, and some spray millet in the vicinity wouldn't hurt. Also maybe a bit of hay or some newspaper for him to hop onto might be a good idea, but I wouldn't get too close to him.
From what I recall, Goldbreast babies are notorious for flying blindly to the nearest wall in sheer panic and trying to squeeze through whichever opening is available however tiny.
I have had adults squeeze very easily between one half inch spaced cage bars, and get stuck in even narrower spaces.

Yes. Found him pecking it.
This is the second clutch. First clutch I found tossed babies dead.
Was informed they possibly didn't think they had enough or appropriate food to feed babies.
The second clutch improved food...egg food, live meal worms added to food base. I believe the babies were tossed out too early cause found one dead and the other they did both feed for a few days. Then dad started pecking and I discovered a bit too late.
Next time, thinking to remove nest and hatchlings with mom out of the aviary and into a cage.
