Question about feather weakness

So one of my bengalease finches tail feathers are really weak like they come off really easy when I hold him they all fall off in my hand however a few months back my birds were attacked by magpies and they did pull his tail off whilst he was protecting the babies could this be the cause.



No one died during this incident luckily just a damaged cage by three magpies (don't leave your cage outside without watching I learnt this the hard way )

This is quite normal in Society Finches.

It's sort of an escape mechanism that they have... if somebody grabs my tail, I just drop the feathers and I'm free again.

It's nothing to worry about, and these feathers will grow back rather rapidly, usually within a few short weeks.

Yeh they have grown back within a week and half
