A very strange thing

Post by sparrowsong98 » Sat Sep 02, 2017 2:06 pm

I think my birds made a nest in the back corner on the floor of their cage. They dragged all of the newspaper (even the huge whole sheets of it) over into that corner, and sleep down there. they do not like it when I put my hand down there, and they show that by biting my hand when i do that. Would they nest down there?
I currently own:
An Australian shepherd
Many chickens
4 goats
A cat
And a bunny

I'm pretty sure if they have no nest box they will make a nest anywhere so yeh sounds like they are nesting I once had to result to using cardboard instead of paper because they kept ripping it for nests

It is possible, especially if they are super protective of that corner.

Do they have a nest or a nest box in the cage?

That might be like closing the barn doors after the horses are gone, lol.

You might already have eggs or chicks in that corner of the cage... :D

If so could he not put a little nesting cup on that corner with the eggs just so they are off the ground or would they not look after them@lovezebs

Breeding mode :D
Just make sure, like Elana suggests they don't have layed eggs already
Good luck

Babs lovezebs they got their nest. Hubby settled in, and is convincing his wife to come in too.
