New Gouldian fledgling
Here is a pic of our latest Gouldian fledgling. The parents are Red-head White-breasted Normals.
This bird fledged yesterday, and I took the pic today - 25 days old.

Cute! How come my gouldian fledged several days older than yours, yet still had pin feathers all over?

Have no idea. All of ours have only had a few pin feathers, if any, at 25 days old. This one still has a few.Icearstorm wrote: a_gouldian

It was my pair's first offspring, so perhaps they were still learning how much to feed it.

a_gouldian - Congratulations! He/she looks very healthy.
Red head/white breast normals were my favorites when I was breeding them until two years ago.

PS: How are your blue cap parent birds doing? Are they getting ready to breed again? Or did they ever really stop?

The Blue Caps have started breeding again but they are off to a slow start. A lot of courtship dancing and singing but only one egg. We did take the nest baskets and materials out of that flight cage and just put them back a few weeks ago.isobea wrote: a_gouldian - Congratulations! He/she looks very healthy.
