One thing about the hose. They usually are stored on a reel. This puts an almost permanent curve into the hose that I have not figured out how to straighten out. Even using HOT tap water, the hose curves back once it cools down. :-( So I try to slit the hose so the curve seems to be minimized.

One more thing, be VERY VERY CAREFUL when you slit the tubing, to NOT cut yourself. I used a utility knife, but any SHARP blade will do. And ALWAYS KEEP YOUR FINGER AWAY FROM THE DIRECTION THE BLADE IS GOING.

You might check in A automotive store for moulding that you put on the edge of car doors so you don't chip the paint when you open your door ,it used to come in a strip and already split

B CAMP, this is a terrific idea! It would be perfect for putting on the edges of doors cut out of the hardware cloth too, to prevent scratching your arm when you reach in. It's really hard to cut a smooth edge. Thanks! :D
