adding more?

Post by adiekaty » Tue Mar 31, 2009 8:48 am

Pair of Zeb's, 3 societies....
Aviary is 3x3x8...

Can I add Java's? Found someone on CL that's selling for $30.00
What do ya'll think?
I read the finch species info, but wanted to know from yall.

Thanks,
Adrienne

Gouldians for the same $$ not colored in yet. Think they may be a bit more than I can handle... (and they wouldn't be in the Aviary)
Not sure if I should do it or not.
Gouldians, Societies, Java's, Spice, Magpie Mannikins and Lovebirds...
Two German Shorthair Pointers, 2 cats, 2 Bearded Dragons, 1 Blue Tongue Skink, aquarium with a betta and 22 koi in a pond out back!!!!
A box turtle and a softshell turtle...
Can I count the husband and 3 kids in here too?

I don't know how much truth there is to this, but I have heard you should not pair javas with smaller finch species as they can be aggressive during breeding months and due to their much larger size, can sometimes kill the smaller birds.

That's what I heard too... They are intimidating, since they are larger... Guess I will pass...
Thanks...

get the gouldians, you wouldnt regret it. they are quite a hardy bird only time to be wary is when they are moulting
Addicted to Finches, yes I do admit it.
I pray they never find a cure.

I agree with Tiffany. Java finches can be very aggressive during breeding. It's better off to cage them separated from your other finches.

I agree with Tiffany and mickp. Pass the Javas..... grab the Goulds.

I worry bout that to. I have a pair of Javas but they are kept in there own cage. Goulds are also much prettier to look at.
