Just want you to see these babies before they start winging their way over to you!!
...which are the babies, you ask? The parents have the orange beaks!

And there is one more identical baby still in the nest!

Ha Ha,

as you know I have 2 adults and 4 babies not even fledged. As well as 2 newbies.

Being a newby at this, now I am going to catch my breath.
However, if you want to drive out here, no problem. I have homes for 6 babies and I've only got 4.

Drive over to Quebec for Zebra finches? I'll have to pass at this time.
All four babies are out of the nest for the first time tonight - and the nestbox is OUT OF THERE! Yay!!

Can we really take out the nest as soon as they fledge?

I can't wait to take it out, it's really gross

At least three have been out (and back in) over the last 3 - 4 days. I never could see the last one out but he was tonight and perched along with all the others. He may have been out during the day when I'm at work. They all look very comfortable so I removed the nestbox as I do not want more babies until these four are sold and gone.
Hope that helps.
Liz
