I didn't realize it got that cold in Australia. Great to hear they are doing well and still breeding Mick!
Is this pretty well the end of the breeding season for your location, Mick? How long are your days now? Sunrise/sunset?

The temp here is close to 90%, 32 C during the day and 85%, 30 C at night... High humidity, 60% and up....... the gouldians are thriving, setting up nest and happy
In the winter I set the thermpstat to come on if it drops below 60% but this year I plan on lowering it to 55%

Mickp,
Just want to know if the night time temperature is at 4-5 Celcius what is the daytime high for the temperature there? Just curious about the temperature fluctuation in a 24 hr period.

I have no artificial lighting or heating in the aviary nor will I be adding any, as the birds cope the way it is

Re: Liz, Some Q's about your bird room
the day time temp here in winter can range from bout 12-25 celcius in the winter but it is manly in the mid -hight teens. the finches dont mind it at all. seens the birds i keep are from either Australia. or africa. so most of them are used to alot of varient in temps like in the outback of Australia it can reach mid 40c then drop as low down to 4-5c at night time.
thanks chris

Wow that's one heck of a lot of temperature variation in 24 hours!
