Hey all,

Sorry for making a new topic on this but I figured some people may not be following the other thread and may want to see it.

I just made a new page for the Gardeness Gardens & Aviaries website that details how to visually sex Owls with a few loverly pictures of some of my guys to aid Owl Finch owners.

Thanks for that, Julie. Now I will have to look at my sexed Owls and see if I can tell the difference on them. Once I have some practice, maybe I can figure out my juvies.

I am so glad you posted those photos...that is so helpful to see comparisons. And who doesn't love Owl photos!

I can see that my Male Owl has the wider...what I call the "BowTie" on his head but it is not often they sit tight together to compare.

sorry it took so long to get back to you.

Thanks for all the compliments. I'm glad it can help you out!

I'm quite surprised no one's ever made a page with this info on it before (including pictures) which is mainly why I made it lol.

The Owls being compared are the four young ones I have for sale - hatched mid-March. So as soon as your juvies have their adult feathers in you should be able to tell which sex they are.

If anyone's having troubles sexing theirs feel free to post pictures of them and we can try to help.
