Question - do we only include our breeders/pets or do we also add the chicks that may be sold in the near future as well :?:

Good Q - I added all the finches in my birdroom including babies and juvies. If we're not supposed to then I'll have to amend my response.

I think the census needs to include all finches and softbills, whether adult, juvies, or babies--just don't count eggs! Most of us have constantly-changing populations, so if we do this as an annual thing, we need to do it each July. Mick, if you need help with some of the scientific names, I could do part of the list--just tell me where to jump in. Not that I know them, I would have to look them up, but it is less-confusing with the scientific names.

please include juveniles in your counts.
thanks for the offer of help Sally :D trust me your turn is coming.
for now though you are safe as I have a list of the latin names, think it is complete
will try and post an example of the list soon including the lating & common names, won't be putting any numbers on it for a while though.
so far I have sent out 100pm's to members and the response rate is 23%, fingers crossed interest picks up
havent been sending it to every member on the list though just those who have been active in the last 12 months

Hopefully the response rate picks up. It is summer here in the northern hemisphere, so schools are out, many people take their vacation in summer, so maybe a lot of them are just very busy right now. I think the National Finch and Softbill Society had the same problem--not all members participate.
