Just typed a note and lost everything :((

Anyway, WOW Janine, I haven't visited this post all week. Your hubby did an amazing job!!! It looks like those very expenses cages from Cage by Design :)

Will this be a double flight? What will you be using for the front of it? I see your using wire on the sides. Very beautiful job, I love the background pics too!!

Boy, that is a really, really nice cage. Wonderful job your hubby did. You are very lucky in both respects.. and so are the little birds!

Hubby says thanks to everyone for all the compliments. :D

The idea did come from Cages by Design.. He built it because $7000.00 is sort of a ridiculous price to pay for a bird cage. It costed us all of $300.00 including the flourescent light fixtures and the background pics, which are actually backgrounds for fish aquariums.. I chose this one because I feld that it would make them feel like they were in a meadow.

It is a double flight. Goulds on top (they will possibly be moving in on Friday if their egg doesn't hatch.) The bottom will be shared by the zebras and the shaftails. First 3 girls will be moving in tomorrow morning. I was afraid to move them in tonight, because I want them to get used their new environment before lights out. This way they will have a full day to get used to it.

The front is plexiglass, so that we can see them without any bars. :D

Will post pics tomorrow with its first occupants.

I can't say enough about how nice that is! And such a good idea with the aquarium backing. I'll remember that for future ref. The birds look right at home. Wonderful job! I am sooo envious.

Here's a pic of the occupants that this cage was actually built in mind for.. He looks like he's saying "Hey babe, we're home". 8)
