My Other Aviary

Post by JohnBoy » Wed Aug 26, 2009 4:31 pm

This one was built this summer. The inside is not completed yet. Waiting for cooler weather to get in there and decorate. The shed is 8x10 feet. The flight is 8x6 feet. There are windows I installed into the doors for access to both areas in colder weather. The indoor shed has cooling and will have heat in the winter months.

The floor is hard plastic. I use hay, pine needles, and dried leaves on the bottom. I change the hay when it gets smelly and use a hand vac to suck up hulls etc. The open part is large pea gravel. I hose it down about twice a week. In the winter I plan on covering the gravel with leaves like I did last winter in the other aviary. It looks great with the leaves. It looks real seasonal.

It's a Lifetime shed. I bought it at samsclub.com. under $1000 when I bought it and shipping was free.
