Zebras not Eating
I just bought a Pr of Zebras last night and put them in a 4'x9'x8' indoor Aviary. They are the sole inhabitants for now but they have not touched their food or water. I have a millet stick clipped to a branch and it looks untouched as well. Should I be worried? Will they eventually find the food?

I would give them several feed and water cups maybe one hanging, one on floor but they will take a while to get settled. They wiil get the millet soon

Hopefully their survival instinct will kick in and they will eat and drink. I always worry when I get new birds....I am so afraid they will starve...but they always somehow manage to eat....especially when I am not looking!

They should find the food eventually, but I agree with Bcamp, you need to provide multiple places for both food and water. It is a very large aviary for two little birds, so they may be very timid at first.

This happened every time I add new birds to my aviary. I worry to death...watching them all day. They can go longer than you think. They will eat as long as they can find the food. Keep us posted.

If they are still alive and moving around a lot, I would assume that they are drinking - just not when you're looking

Is the water in dishes or bowls? Some birds have never seen tube-style waterers and take some time to get used to them. I always give new birds both the tube-style waterer, which is what I use, and open bowls of water just in case.
