That is a very clever idea...I have D cups. I will try that this evening when I feed everyone. Thank you. By the way, ABBA seed has them for $4.50, lowest price I've seen, most want close to $6 or $7 for them.

I am starting to notice a few little hulls in some of the feeders, I just picked up little cups to hook on the front like FeatherHarp suggested. I will be adding them to the front of each one tonight. Crossing my fingers.

No I am a bit disappointed, they all like a bowl or dish. The St Helena, OC and Gold Breat won't touch it either. I will save them for little offspring.

I thought about getting these from Pier 1 (love that place!), do you think the frog would scare them. The bottle one is the kind you add your own bottle to. It looks lik a beer bottle!

Sorry to hear they don't like the seed hoppers...they are so nice to use and no seed hulls get all over the cage.

I know my finches didn't go right to it at first even after I removed the D cups and all other sources of food. But once they got hungry enough...they were right in it!

My one male Gouldian took a little longer to find the seeds because he kept hanging on the side and pecking at the clear plastic trying to get at the seeds...it was so funny to watch...lol! But he figured out where the seeds were after he watched the others go in there.

Question on the seed hoppers.
What do the birds do w the seeds they do not like.
ALL my finches do not seem to like the dark/black seeds. All they eat are the white ones.
As I see it, if they only pick out the white seeds, sooner or later the seeds will stop coming down, cuz the bottom cup will be full of black seeds.

What they don't eat, or put aside fall into the tray on the bottom. I empty it outside for the wild finches in my backyard.. And they eat it all. :D

I try to blend two different companies seed together for a varity. The left over seed I have to toss in the trash, our neighbor started leaving wild bird seed out and it draws rats/mice especially during the cooler months in Florida.
