A few Gouldians Colouring Up

Gosh - those tails are gorgeous! Are the parents like that too? Is the father a red lined bird too? What are the parents? Are these babies split to blue? There are so many things I like about these birds! Too bad you are in Canada!

That is Susan's site. She has some beautiful birds. She also has many hand tamed ones. I have contacted her and I think if I ever buy more gouldians I think it may be from her. I love her attitude and birds She specializes in the blues.

I know Susan personally and she is a wonderful person! A real dedicated bird keeper.

I have swooned over her birds as well.. She produces a lot with that royal suffusion through the back and shoulders which I love.
Almost like a sea green, but I think it's because of the blue lines or being split or something.

But I figure if I'm shipping from GA I should just hold out for some of Misty's ;)

Misty, what colors are you working with other than the red line and lilac breast?

My focus right now is on the red lines, lilac breasts and OH's. Maybe not all on the same bird but a girl can dream!

I was looking for something on finch breeders and happened along this. The blue on this bird is unusual. The breeder is out of Georgia.

I got my pair of gouldians from Susan at the last bird fair in Atlanta. (But not blue ones, just a red head and a black head.) The birds are doing great, being healthy and happy.
She was VERY nice when I bought my birds from her, explained a lot about gouldians since I am new to this species, and even walked me over to another vendor who had nice nest boxes. She also took a long time picking out the couple of birds with me, making sure to give me an unrelated pair.
If I ever get more gouldians I would certainly get them from her again.

WOW! Misty, these photos are so beautiful!!

How do you get these great shots of your gouldians? I love the flower pictures, but after all... flowers aren't flying away.
