Is this normal?
So I have a new finch. A (I think Female) Spice. SHE will scrape her beak on the nest or bars. Mostly when she gets wet. It does look a little flakey. Is it normal or not?

Yes, birds wipe their beaks after meals...and just at various other times for various other reasons...
I LUV the Sandyperch products...by far the best sanded perches in my opinion...but the others will do the same job...
I have one by everyone's food dish, so I know they use it...
...keep their nails from getting sharp as well as providing a rough surface for the beak wipes...

A bird in the hand...requires some serious washing up...

Why? There's only the one...they use it while they eat...keep the tips of the nails from getting overly sharp...
...they're not sitting on it all the time, so no worries there...
It's been 2 years...no problems...they're excellent for my parrots too...
