What is pigeon and dove seed? If its anything like a mash for quail, it may be toxic to finches.

Sorry for the late response. I have been so busy palnting bulbs for my mom in her garden that i diddnt have a chance to go online.

I dont use hair spray or any oher scented products in the room with the birds.

The symptoms are:
-lethargy
-eye squinting
RIP

is that helpful? they also refuse to eat sometimes.

Is the pigeon and dove seed you feed from the feed store? Does it have antibiotics/vitamins in it. Do you feed this to all of your finches?

Gouldian Diet...A quality foreign finch mix with at least 30% plain canary seed.Occasional greenfood and millet sprays.Grated hard boiled egg occasionally, and daily when raising chicks.Grated microwaved eggshells, cuttlefish or oystershell with a sprinkle of charcoal.Seaweed extract..liquid or powdered.Multivitamins sprinkled on food once a week.THAT'S IT

It's served me for donkeys years with many hundreds of chicks raised.Others will insist on various additives..personally I've found the above works fine without dozens of chemical additives.

Don't feed anything prepared for other species..you don't know what additives might be contained.
