Re: Iodine?
NO!!! It's not the same..
I do not think liquid iodine is necessary for Gouldians.
They should get sufficient iodine in their diet, but if you are concerned the diet is lacking, you can always offer powdered kelp free choice.
This way they can consume it as they need it, rather than forcing it into them potentially unnecessarily.

Re: Iodine?
I give liquid iodine diluted in their water once a week when they are breeding. The proper iodine can be ordered online from the link posted by Bill above or I believe Fairest Finches as well.

Re: Iodine?
I put the powdered kelp in their egg food about twice a week. Is liquid better than powder? Or does it matter?

Re: Iodine?
I guess it's a matter of opinion but I believe powdered is better and offered free choice in a finger cup or something, because it allows the birds to consume it free choice as they need it.JohnBoy wrote:I put the powdered kelp in their egg food about twice a week. Giving anything in the water forces the birds to take it in even if they don't need it.
