Well I have the opposite problem...

I go to the bird mart and say to my husband "no birds today".... and HE is the one who always convinces me to get something..... [-X

He has always said he didn't mind as a matter of fact he sometimes sees something at the show like 2 pairs of blue billed firefinches for $95 a pair. I was the one that said "no" mostly because I was so happy just to get another pair of Gold Breast and 2 pairs of owls and 4 more cages, supplies and nest boxes. I didn't want to push it. Also I didn't know to much about fires and wanted to look into it more. Now, in hind sight and reading how nice they are I probably should have said ok.

For me it is more of a tendency to take on a lot, but now the girls are grown it is easier, more time to tend to little birds, dogs. (1 daughter is left at home, a senior in HSchool)

I am so excited. I scrubbed down the flight, trimmed and clean branches and got red apple blossom silks and greens. I set up the branches and flowered stems already. So far, I like the way it looks, but I am not finished yet.

I will be adding the nest box, greens and feeders today. I have plexiglass as seed guards for around the bottom.

I just keep going back in forth between the Shaftail and Diamonds. I am leaning toward Shaftails but Diamonds are so striking. :?

Do any of you have Diamonds, are they difficult to breed or care for? I know some of you have said how easy Shaftails are.

If I choose those I would like to get 1 fawn and 1 normal if possible.
