Does anyone know if two male cordon bleus will get along if there are no females in the cage?

I know for sure males will fight when females are present. But I am not sure about two males without females. My guess would be probably no problem.

I've never had any luck mixing CBs. Of course, I just have flight cages, so I can't say how they would act in an aviary. I have had 4 sibling males in a flight cage as juveniles, and once they matured, they started chasing and picking on each other, even with no female present. So if you are talking keeping them in a cage, I would say it would not work.

I agree with Sally. Eventually there would be problems. I had a pair each of RCCB and BCCB for about a year. I bragged that I had no problems in my aviary with them and then it started..... :^o

thanks for your responses. I wanted two males together but I will go with a male and a female. What other birds does anyone have in same flight cage with them without problems? Wouldn't it be great if all birds got along!!!

CBs generally are not aggressive to other species, only to other CB males, so you could mix many of the African waxbills with them. They should have no problem with Goldbreasts or Fires, or you could put Australians with them--Stars, Owls, or Gouldians. Just watch how many birds total you have in your flight cage, making sure it doesn't get overcrowded.
