Versele-laga Tropical Breeding Mix 20kg
Ingredients

Yellow panicum 36 %
Yellow millet 28 %
Canary seed 16 %
Japanese millet 10 %
White millet 4 %
Niger seed 4 %
Red panicum 2 %

or

Versels-laga Standard Tropical Finch Mix 25kg
Ingredients

Yellow panicum 48 %
Yellow millet 33 %
Canary seed 8,5 %
Red panicum 6 %
Red millet 3 %
Niger seed 1,5 %

The top one is a bit more expensive and has only 20kg instead of 25kg. I have gouldians, bichenos, hecks, zebras and bengalese and plan on breeding them (most are a bit young still).

I usually get the standard mix but they recently added this so called "breeding mix" and I have no idea if it's really worth the extra cost or not.
Gouldians, Masked grass finches, Blue capped cordon bleus, Fawn Bichenos, Bengalese.

The difference is the amount of protein opposed to the amount of carbohydrates of the seeds contents. Most breeders accomplish this increase in protein buy suppling eggfoods, soaked/sprouted seed, bugs, or a combination of these.
I add high protein seeds like canarygrass seed and sunflower nut chips to my regular finch mix to bring the flock into breeding condition after a leaner winter diet. (much like the Auster Diet that is popular these days.)
I like to keep these different seeds on hand so I can readily create diets for different needs of the birds, such as, resting, breeding, molting, fleging. Tweaking the balance of proteins can have dramatic effects on the birds.
