Got My 2 Pairs of YB Waxbills in Today

More fantastic birds from SWA. I am so excited. These birds arrived in flawless condition. Very active, eating great, well groomed. I am housing them with the fires. I will probably keep these inside also till Spring.

They are really nice, I love the two colors on the beak. Very nice, they look great. Are these tiny like Gold Breast and fires? The male is very handsome.

The Yellow-bellied waxbill is wrongly called the Swee Waxbill by most dealers. The Swee is similar to the YB but has black on the face.

Yes, I have seen the swee and you are right about most dealers calling swee, YB. I have seen the swee and was told they were the YB....but I knew better  Never seen the true YB before.
Do you see them much in the trade?

Candace the YB is wrongly called the Swee. The Swee has the black face the yellow belly does not. Mine are the Yellow bellied. I have never seen the Swee in the trade.

Very cute!! They do look a lot like the pictures I've seen of what they call the Swee waxbill. I can see why some people would get confused.
