Single orange weaver?

I am really taken with the breeding plumage of the orange weaver but I want to only keep my birds in a mixed aviary. Do you think the orange weaver would be aggressive if I didn't provide him with female weavers? And would he ever go into breeding plumage even if there were no females? (that is a very ignorant question because I really have no idea , I have never owned birds who change colors during the breeding season) I would really love to own one of these and his colors would be SUCH an eye catcher in a mixed aviary, but I just don't want to risk my other birds well-being.

Now, Now....don't get mad.
I think these guys are like many others...it depends on the individual birds. I have 2 male weavers and 3 female weaver in the outdoor aviary. The males chase and do their threatening posture but never really attack each other...though one usually backs down. The weavers have never bothered the zebras, gouldians or canaries in the aviary. Of course they would probablu be more aggressive in a cage. One of my males stays in bredding colors. My other male is in the process of changing. These birds were rescue birds and they are old. I have had them for 6 years and I know the person I got them from had them a year and they were adults when she got them. There were 2 more females but they passed away last winter. They have laid eggs but never hatched. I did not put them into the aviary with a nest until they were old though. So no chicks ever from them...They are characters though.

Thanks Candace, I knew you would answer. I will give one male a try in a mixed aviary one day. If he becomes agressive I could always rehome him. I don't plan on breeding them because I don't really like the colors of the females.

And those pics are fantastic. They have such contrasting colors! And I love that they lay blue eggs.
