I love when you can hold them before they become afraid of us (as they should be). Congratulations on your baby Owls!

Great! Enjoy. I just had my first owl fledgling (only one). Quite nice as I have had an unproductive pair for two years - because the original pair was two hens! argh.

Congrats! They are so cute--I love the way Owls fledge looking like miniature copies of the adults, unlike so many species that don't look anything like their parents at first. Too bad we don't live closer--your Owls could get together with mine!

Sally, up for a road trip?

Guess what everyone? It is a Thanksgiving Miracle! There is another baby! He/She/It fledged today. Pretty amazing since I didn't think there were any living babies... to have three! I am so thankful! I love Owls, and felt so bad for my mommah owl, she kept trying to have a clutch with no results. She is a pretty protective Mommy! I banded the older two chicks so I could tell them from their parents as they get a bit older, I'm waiting until the littlest chick gets a bit bigger to band him. He looks like a "runt." (Just a younger chick, I don't want to stress him out with handling. Does not have the same amount of feathers. Quite a bit smaller.) Mommah was not a happy camper and gave me the business for sure!
