Opinions please update 12/26

This is a picture of one of Mario's babies. He has never produced an orange head like himself. But I swear this hen looks like her head will be orange to me. What do you all think?

I hope so. This would be the FIRST orange head I have produced. For some reason all his others have had RED heads.

She is a wonderful little bird and helped to feed the younger gouldians. Either way I am keeping her.

Also, Mario is a lilac breasted bird so I am thinking "maybe" she is too????

Donna, she looks like an orange head to me and her chest looks lilac. She is a very pretty baby. I thought of you today while at the show, they had a pale white gouldian with a lilac chest there. Very unusual.

I've learned from my daughter and from Tiffany that (I hope I get this one right) it all depends on the beak! If the beak is red - then it is a redhead. If the beak is orange then it is an OH.

Too hard to tell what colour the beak is from this distance - even if I squint! #-o Maybe with another picture (sideways)?

I can't tell in these pictures but went back to the juvie pictures and her beak looks orange to me...

I don't know if I would say her breast is lilac though especially since she is still growing in the new feathers because they look chalky at this stage.

Either way she is a pretty hen =D>

I enlarged the picture, it looks like the beak is more orange than red. JMO!

Hate to say it but it sure looks like a red tipped beak on this monitor. With Yellow Heads your not looking for an orange color but a yellow tipped beak.
Maybe it's time for a new monitor?? lol

I'm still on the fence - perhaps it is lighter because she is still so young

Here is a good picture of "Orange" on the beak

The head sure looks orange :D hard to tell about the beak..it sure has a lot of color for a young bird so I am leaning towards red tipped beak. :?
Here are a couple of young females with yellow tipped beaks and a mature pair. the males beak has a deeper orange, the female is more yellow/orange
