Critter's tail is so long, she has gotten big. I love the Herb Salad taste testers!

The cages for the CBs are very nice and roomy. Looks good Tiffany, hope they start producing for you. Mine were courting earlier but are not so active this afternoon. Let's hope this is CB season for all of us!!!!!

Looks like you aren't wasting anytime with your extra space
Best of luck with your CBs, they are pretty little finches. Critter doesn't look so much like a baby anymore. Has she gotten darker or is it just the picture? Grey is my favorite color and she is a beautiful shade :D

Glad you separated the two pairs of CBs, Tiffany. The males get pretty aggressive when they get in breeding mode. I even found that when I had male juvenile siblings, they would get along just fine, then one day they would start squabbling and I would have to separate them. It's too bad they are that way--a cage full of CBs would be a pretty sight!

Curiosity - why don't the handfeds doing the taste test on the Herb Salad, fly off? I guess because they are used to you and the surroundings?

Also, what is the little pieces of wood (in the pics) beside some of the nestboxes?

They are accustomed to me - when I open the cage to feed them, they all fly out and land on various body parts.. my head, shoulders, arms, hands, etc., begging to be fed.
They are more comfortable with me, than away from me - so I find they are more adventurous to try new foods when I offer them to them in my company.

The two smaller ones (the two dilutes) were still begging the entire time, but their three sisters were working their way through the salad :)

Those are the covers that my fiance cut/built for me to cover the openings in the breeding cages for when the nest boxes are not there.
These cages did not come with breeding doors, so he had to cut them into the cages (I didn't want to hang boxes inside, as you can see - mine are large  )

So - I just hung them to the side of the nest boxes for now so I don't misplace them

It's probably just the picture - though she might be a touch darker or more of a blue-grey shade now than she was before.. she is molting right now, too :)

Critter is adorable. She looks mischievous. :P
By the way, where did you get you stackable breeder cages and stands?
I really need to get something like that myself. They are so space efficient. :-k

I bought them from another breeder - but here is a link to a place that offers them for VERY affordable prices and the shipping is free.
