I made Squeaker all new perches out of maple branches before I brought her home, but then I had all the dowel perches that came with the cage. So I designed a small jungle gym for her so she can sit (happily I might add) on my desk with me and we can eat breakfast and she can play while John or I use the computer

It was really easy to make, I found these awesome fasteners with 2 types of threading one one one half the other on the other half so you use one diameter of drill on one side and a smaller diameter on the other then you just wind the pieces together, and voila! No exposed metal pieces! I bought a little ladder, which she doesn't really use, instead she either hops and flutters up OR she hangs like a bat then very ungracefully flops onto the ground lol. She really seems to like her jungle gym though and she's also settling into her cage nicely, she's even starting to sing a little

She lets me pet her without too much wiggling, she's started letting me give her kisses and she steps up like a champ! Also she hasn't bitten me yet

Anyways, I'll stop bragging and post the pics lol

Nice play gym! I was going to do that with some of the dowels I have laying around but got lazy and just went and bought one instead.
Squeaker is looking cuter everyday... if that is possible.

oh it's possible Tammie! You should have seen her when I showered with her today lol! I was holding her on my finger letting the spray off me hit her so it wasn't too hard and she got all upset and fluttered off my finger into the water at the bottom of our shower stall, THEN she was WET LOL! She was SO unimpressed. She dried off too quickly for me to get a good pic though. I'm going to go buy a suction cup shower shelf for her and next time I'll bring my camera into the bathroom with me lol.
Acutally I'm cheap which is why I built this instead of buying one. I paid something like $2 for the little screw doodads and the perches I already had the ladder was like $3 or $5 and the cheapest decent looking play gym I could find was like $20! SO the frugal person in me decided building was better. Oh and it got those dowel perches out of the way, no need to worry about storing them now

I'm already envisioning how to add to her gym when she decides she's tired of it the way it is

Oh I think I'm probably going to start planning and addition to this one so she can have a swing and maybe a climbing rope

She's got a swing in her cage but doesn't really use it, although I think she's still a little overwhelmed by all the toys in there lol, she plays with her curly rope and her baby pacifier and that's it so far, I'm sure she'll figure out the rest soon enough though

Righ now she's sleeping on her jungle gym after having her breakfast. She must be settling in b/c she's sleeping on one leg now instead of two, for the first few days she was always on both.
