new breeding cages

Post by Misso » Thu Oct 29, 2009 11:32 pm

hi everyone,

i just brought 4 galvanized double breeding cages,

they are 36 inch long, 18 inch tall and 18 inch deep.

il be using them for 1 pair of gouldians, i wanted to go bigger with the cages after using 24inch long, 16 tall, 16 deep wire cages, by the time the parents had a clutch the cage got too crowded, plus the cages did'nt have nest box doors.

these new cages come with nest box doors on each corner and sides, depending on if you want your boxes at the front or side. and plenty of seed cups which i can use for grit, egg food, etc.

i payed $60 each a cage, hoping these cages work well for me i have to wait a week or 2 before they are delivered. cant wait till they arrive

has anyone on here used these type of cages?? how have you found them?

Jarryd :)

That looks great.
My cages have the nest box door below the middle of the cage, vs. yours where the nest is near the top of the cage.

I had those years ago, very sturdy. I used them when I raised lovebirds...terrific cages. The cages wash up well and really hold up. Enjoy!

You birds are lovely by the way.

brought 4 double breeding cages a couple of months ago. finally built them and installed them!

AFTER

got the wood from my old mans friend down the rd

Wood has been painted white, perches fitted and food and water containers.

the shelves that were their originally were cut down and fitted nicely under the cages.

will put 4 pairs of goulds in them a couple of weeks after there breeding diet has been introduced.

the pairs will be

RH/WB/GB COCK x RH/PB-WB/GB HEN

RH/PB/SFY COCK x RH/PB/SFY HEN

RH/WB/SFY COCK x YH/PB/SFY HEN

then either BH/WB PAIR or YH/WB/PAIR
