Keep us updated Ray, I am considering purchasing a cock bird myself - they too are 50 GBP here and are `non too common` to put it mildy.

I picked up the females yesterday and they are nice , even nicer and more calm than the pair i bought a few weeks back , i am trying to sell one of them or to trade for an own breed male , i did put out some lines for that already but so far no reactions . [-o<

when i went into the breeding part today i found the first female that i bought 2 weeks ago almost dead on the floor , i picked her up and gave her a bit water with vitamins in it , now its like 3 hours later and it seems that she's almost dead , even the warmth i gave her doesn't help ..... we'll see tomorrow morning at 6 if she made it or not .

the other doing good so i guess the male got 2 females this summer , but not in the aviary tho , the redpoll's will kill them .

Ray,
Do you know what could be wrong with your female? Did you keep her alone?

can imagine its alot off money for some people , what i always did is buy a few cheaper birds , breed with them , sell the young ones and buy new species for the cash , and so on and on ... or !!!!! ... don't drink , don't smoke , don't go out ... and that saves you plenty money to ( for me it worked !!  )

Oghhh ya ,
the young female died last night , found her this morning and i couldn't see anything ... so why she died is a mystery for me
