I am not sure where you are from, but I do just happen to live in Canada. And yes, the police do enforce the drug laws, and are very serious about it. We even have a special task force that are on the lookout just for this. In the last 2 years, I have read of at least 15 busts, just in the Laurentians. They will not just enter a ouse on a whim but as my old neighbour found out, if they see suspicious behaviour (meaning overboard on the visitor traffic, and onoly staying for a half hour at a time), they will get a warrant and bust you. I am mentioning this just to be sure that everyone here does not think that the Canadians take drug dealers as a joke, they are taking it very seriously. Thank you for letting me vent....it did take a while to decide to say something.tkilgour wrote:Lol, I wouldn't worry about it even if it was cannabis sativa. How would the cops ever know thats what you had sprouting in the privacy of your home? Maybe your being paranoid. As long as your not advertising to your neighbors or forum members, smoking out in public, selling cannabis all over town or venting out a grow room, no one will ever know what you have in your home. Funny post but hemp is not the same as cannabis sativa and not illegal. Also, depending on where you live for example Canada, cops don't even care what your growing. They don't enforce cannabis laws there nor do they care if you grow. A certain amount of plants in your house is perfectly fine to have in Canada. Lol, funny post!!!!!!

I beg to differ, as I'm not sure where you got your information from since (from looking at your website - nice chameleons!) you appear to be based in Ohio, but here in Canada cops certainly DO care what you're growing. NO amount of marijuana plants are allowed to be grown in any residence. Saying that, I'm sure that someone would have a court order saying they are allowed; but for the vast 99.9999999% of the Canadian population, 'weed' is not allowed and is a crime punishable by the law.tkilgour wrote:Also, depending on where you live for example Canada, cops don't even care what your growing. If indeed "a certain amount of plants in your house is perfectly fine to have in Canada" then a LOT more people would be growing it; and I for one would be terribly disappointed to find it to be true.
JMHO.

True enough Fran, but I still don't believe it's "legal" even in Vancouver with it's reputation right across Canada.franny wrote:Maybe he's from Vancouver area?lovemyfinch wrote:I am not sure where you are from, but I do just happen to live in Canada. Lol, funny post!!!!!!Think it has something to do with the milder climate here. The sheer numbers here mean they can't catch them all!

No of course it's not legal here either... just that it is so prevalent that the police do overlook a lot. They don't seem to do much about people who grow a plant or two for their own use. They just go after the big grow ops, and they can't keep up with them. Heck, we even have a little shop right here in Langley, that sells all the paraphenalia for smoking drugs, etc. I was shocked to see it and have no idea how they managed to get a business license, but they have one! Really grates on me, but what can you do???

Maybe...but I do not want to lose my RN license for sprouting hemp seed! And am I wrong in thinking that hemp is the same stuff that grows marijuana? If not, why would they sell is STERILIZED?tkilgour wrote:Maybe your being paranoid.![]()

The only way to legally grow it is if your state allows the growing of hemp for industrial purposes only and you must have a permit to do so. Ohio is either one of those states that has the law or is working on allowing the growth of it in the state with permits for industrial use.
If you are afraid to loose your license, I would dispose of it.

I don't think feeding it is that important for the birds for you to worry about it one way or the other I would just throw it away and have a little piece of mind
