Are those two males two females?

They are so eye-catching when they sit like that, almost like these wise oriental birds from ancient times or something. I don't know, something about them is so striking. :D

The painted finches? IF so , yes.... it is two pairs.
I love these birds. They are not skittish or scared of me at all.

Beauties.

I love the painted finches. I can get some here, but the breeder reckons they don't do well in damp conditions i.e. my open aviary conditions would kill them and as they are super expensive here, I don't want to risk it.

I have seen their nests though. TOO cute that they use stones to line their nest with. Apparently breed quite readibly too.

I think mine are getting ready to breed as I have seen them go in and out of a nest. I am going to put a few more up and offer them some small sticks and pebbles.
I hope they will breed readily now!! I haven't had any luck so far which is why I wanted another pair. I have heard they breed best in groups.

Your goulds are turning out so nice and those paints are striking. They all look super healthy and hope you get some fire finch chicks.
I love pics... good job :D
