Zebra Help
I got home today after only having my Zebra pair days and they were running around with feathers in their mouths. I supplied them with grass short yarn, feathers (artificial & cockatiel), and fabric. When should i cut them off? Is egg food necassary since the female makes daily trips to the cuttle bone? I need advice I haven't gotten from books!
Waiting for new zebras to breed.

You probibly don't need to cut them off. They should stop when they get the nest as full as they need it. You should be giving them egg food as it is high in the protiens the hen will need to lay her eggs. Cuttlebone will help supply the calcium needed along with some trace minerals but no protien. Egg food would be benificial from the time before she lays eggs through the time the chicks are being weaned. I sometimes start the birds with grasses and fibers and give them feathers or jute for the final lining of the nest, but they'll breed well almost reguardless.
Hope this helps,
