Thank you Judy. As long as they all 'go forth and multiply' rapidly, I'll be a happy fid-momma!

Liz that's amazing for you! I'm very happy that there are dedicated finchers taking on the strawberry issue. I would someday love to have some, and you guys are making it possible. =D> =D>

Thank you Brant and Domenic. I sure hope to get some healthy PR/NLF babies from these 3 pairs now - just like Sally did from her Strawberries. She's my inspiration to not give up! =D>

Are you going to BC for Strawberries, Janine?

I just hope I can get these to breed! [-o< I guess I should plan to place them in cages that cannot see each other.

Yes it is a BC breeder/importer. Here's the link:

And from there you can reply directly to him with any questions or Google his website Ponytail Joe's

The male was a little fluffed this morning, so I added some Guardian Angel to their water. I hope it's just a little stress from travelling. [-o<

I applied Scatt to each of them last night.

Shipping is stressful on them, so not uncommon to have one fluffed the next day or so. Have you put a heat lamp on the cage as well? I've had to do that sometimes even with birds I get at the mart, they just need a few days to recuperate.

I thought of the heatlamp after I'd left the house - I'll have to get one on there whenI get home tonight for sure. Thanks for the reminder! =D>

Congratulations Liz =D>

How are they doing now? Were his prices reflecting Canadian prices? I know things are more expensive there in general but goodness! Are they young and banded?

They are not banded but wild caught - so you really don't know the age for sure but I was told they would be "young" as the "older" ones are too smart for the nets. The young don't know to avoid the nets yet.

They are all doing great now. The male is not fluffed any more.

My first pair I bought from a petshop was $150 for the pair and he told me afterwards that he charged me way too low. So I've no idea how much he would charge now but he knows I've been searching for Berries ever since. I keep asking him and he says he hasn't had any since that pair, which btw are also not banded.

The ones I got last week were $150 each plus tax plus shipping/handling.
