Grams meausre weight, while cups measure volume, so can't really compare. 200 grams = about 7 ounces, so if you have one of those small diet or food scales, you could measure out 7 ounces.

Thanks, ikhom! I have a food scale that measures grams and ounces, and I have hulled millet--why didn't I think to measure it out and take a picture? #-o

I am actually using this recipe, however, to cut down on time I heat it up in the microwave and then pass it through the foodprocessor. Works great, is never too moist and only takes 5 minutes from beginning to end. I then take the shells, rinse them properly, put them in the microwave 1 1/2 min. for 4 eggs, and then pass those in the coffee grinder and add to the eggfood. Everyone dives in.....sometimes before I remove my hands. :D

since it's difficult so far to find hulled(pealed) millet here, can we use the one with the hull. I see a problem when birds break and dispose the hull thus not eating the egg around it but I thought to ask your opinion.

UPDATE: Found it today and bought some to try this recipe out.

you can replace hulled millet by broken rice. :)

I prepared it with hulled millet and offered it this morning to my birds but to my amazement they did not like it. I am really wondering why since everybody else birds loved it. Some tasted it but that's about it. I have left it until this afternoon and threw it out. And we are talking for a test of over 10 cages of gouldians and my birds do eat eggfood if that makes a difference. I just can't explain it.
