Is this a silver???

Post by dfcauley » Sat Apr 10, 2010 6:02 pm

This is the gouldian that my society finches are raising. It was an egg that I found in the aviary and had no idea what it was until it hatched. Not sure if you could tell from this picture but I have never had one look quite like this and I am wondering if it is a silver.
It is not yellow at all..... and it actually looks silver to me. If it is.... I cannot imagine who the parents are. :?

Can you get a clearer pic? The middle nodes look yellow to me, but it could be the photo. [-o<

I was just about to say the same thing. Nodules look to be yellow, as well as a couple of feathers on the back

I am going to try and get another picture tomorrow. IF it is silver, what color would the nodules be?

It looks like a yellow to me. I've had chicks that looked like that and they were single factor yellows.

White, without a doubt, pure 100% white.

Donna, it's a cutie :D I had one last summer that confused me for a while. It was really a white and beige look instead of yellow (miss red eyes) But alas, she turned into a beautiful yellow hen. I have noticed that yellows will vary in tones of color but the nodules always have some yellow.
Blues and silvers will have white nodules. Blues appear pink skinned and silvers whitewhite skinned.
