Re: Finally!
Floyd has those all the time and I think every time they are gorgeous but they are large birds!
Do they get along with most finches or will you keep them alone?

Re: Finally!
Exciting! I love when people on the forum get a new species, I almost live vicariously through them.
Can not wait to see pics.

Re: Finally!
They are supposedly very aggressive, especially towards smaller birds. There isn't too much info out there so I will keep them alone. I really want to breed these, they are so spectacular! I am in the process of setting up their own cage now.MLaRue wrote:Floyd has those all the time and I think every time they are gorgeous but they are large birds!

Re: Finally!
Money was an issue then. They were $350.00 a pair. They have come down to $250.00 so I decided to go for it. I also have been wanting some more Bl & Wh mannikins and they are also available now. So I also ordered two more pair. I have one pair now and one pair of the Rufous back. I'd love to find some more rufous back mannikins but I have not seen them available lately.psilocybin6 wrote:Interestingly enough, a few days back I randomly recalled your other post and wondered if you got them already. Congrats, you will love them.

Re: Finally!
Congrats! They sure are lookers. There is nothing like getting new birds, especially if its a new species.
I saw a lot a few months back, but was not tempted. Pretty as they are I cannot house them seperately and could not take the chance of them being agressive, I have plenty red in my aviary. They are quite large besides.
Enjoy yours and looking forward to your pictures.
