Wheat Grass Sprouted Seed

Post by ranchnanny » Sun May 22, 2011 11:52 am

I ordered some wheat grass seed in a container to sprout for my birds. This is a trial period to see if they like it. They were sure curious when I put it on the cage floor. Took them awhile but the OCWB's were the first as always to give it a try.

Cool set up. My birds eat the seed that sprouts in my yard from bird seed I throw for the wild birds. I don't use any pesticides in the yard and they eat up all the sprouts and love it more than romaine or other store bought green leaf.

From the looks of it the finches seem to like having the sprouted seed. =D> =D>

Wheat grass has always been one of my birds favorites. I'm sure they will have it gone in no time. :)

I grow this in pots for my birds all the time. They have it gone in no time also... all of the birds LOVE it.
You can usually purchase it cheaper if you have some feed store near you. I buy five pounds at a time of the seed.
