Found today (Pics added)

I did a nest inspection today on a few nests that I thought were not in use, planning to remove them.

in one of them I found a young bird (at least I only saw one), maybe 2 weeks old, has quite a few feathers.
I believe it is a baby painted finch but wont know for sure until it fledges

I couldnt wait for this little one to fledge, had to know what it was lol.
took it out of the nest for a couple of minutes today.
it is certainly a painted finch and is the only one in the nest.

Great pictures, don't you just love surprises like that! And that looks like a very well-fed baby.

That's wonderful! And I can't even ask what you did to get them to breed since you didn't KNOW that they were breeding!
