Thanks a lot for the comments everyone!!

He's really adorable and extremely active, even caught him dancing to his parents a few times already. I read that the first molt is very stressful but it doesn't seem to bother him - not yet anyway - and it's really fun noticing new brighter feathers everyday!

Anyway, while cleaning yesterday I peaked into the nest and there were two chicks and two unhatched eggs - one of the chicks is bigger than the other and has a full crop so it seems they're still doing a great job!

I don't mind if the remaining eggs don't hatch, I'd be happy with just two this time. I built a 5 ft flight cage for my goulds to rest in and all of them will move into it once this clutch is weaned.

Will update with pictures once they fledge :)

Sadly, they tossed one of the chicks several days ago and I found it dead on the floor. They also threw out an egg which had a developed chick inside. :(

I guess whoever said they'd freak out the second time was right, cause now they're taking care of a single chick again just like their first try.

On the bright side, the remaining chick is doing great, the crop looks like it'll explode and he's being fed constantly. Right now he's too big for them to toss so I guess things are settled unless they decide to abandon it which I don't expect they'd do based on their track record.

Sorry to hear that H2015, I think you will find that the pair will do better and better for you in the future and at least you still have the 1 chick, good luck.

About to fledge:

Looks like another dilute baby, was hoping for a yellow or normal but all good anyway. :)

Now I'm wondering, this is their second clutch and the cock is already working on the nest but I'm not sure if I should let them go ahead (considering they only reared one chick with each clutch) or if I should let them rest till next year and replace them with a different pair once the new chick is weaned?
